Read Description:

Memorable sun-drenched acid-pop, a classic in the making.

A veteran at just 26, Jody cuts an enigmatic figure. He left school at 12 to play bass with his band at the time, by 13 he got his first record deal with Warp Records subsiduary Gift and toured with Pulp and Cornershop before the age of 16. Since then he has worked with Kate Nash, Arctic Monkeys, Martha Wainwright and Baby Bird, to name but a few.

The follow up to 2005’s ‘Lovely White Teeth’ is the more realised “Afterlife”  which Jody recorded his attic and playing just about all of the instruments himself . He also shines lyrically, on “Punk Rock” he says of Eminem “You want to hug him, you want to tell him that it’s okay to be gay. I hope he wouldn’t ever be offended, I bought his CD and I thought I heard him say, just say whatever it is you want to” - inspired! It has an energy and enthusiasm ideal for  freewheeling down those famous Sheffield hills with your iPod maxxed-up. However, the highlight and centerpiece of the album is ‘Misty Morning Sunrise’, a memorable sun-drenched slice of acid pop and a classic in the making, “you can touch the rainbows...and laugh without a care”. Press play now - you will not regret it!
