Read Description:

Get Yr Blood Sucked Out, Viva Voce’s third album is their most immediate, intense and cohesive to date, 10 years since meeting in Alabama this husband and wife team have come of age.The bands touchstones – masterful sonic build-ups, Anita Robinson’s beguiling vocals, her relentlessly brutal guitars and the non-linear song structures – are still in place. But each track is distinct, different and new.

Fuzzed out psych excursions, eminently infectious melodies, hand-clap break downs, and star-shine vocal harmonizing (often all in the same song) belie an underlying deftness of arrangement and composition. Mining everything from down tempo electronica and R&B to post-rock and dream pop, Viva Voce weave together a sonic tapestry of shifting tones and textures that both continually challenges and stimulates the listener while holding them blissfully entranced. Sounding like the Velvet Underground sharing an intimate soiree with the Flaming Lips ‘Special Thing’ brings a real sense of hope to the proceedings. Believer is an outlaw riding his horse into town all leaden beats and swagger with a pinch of Morricone guitar in his saddlebag.
