Soaring harmonies, jangly guitars and fairground organs. Like a lost gem from the Postcard era.
Using a variety of vintage analogue synths and esoteric audio equipment 'Seeland' go to great lengths to create their transcendental pop nuggets. These are catchy, melodic songs with curious electronic edges and amazingly detailed production, like The Beach Boys and The Jesus and Mary Chain locked in a fire-lit studio on a winters day.
'Seeland' are a trio of veterans from a Birmingham (UK) based music community, some call the ‘Retro Futurist Electronic Scene'. A scene inspired by space age pop, the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Joe Meek and eccentric 60's library music. Whilst remaining true to the outlying principles of said scene and with an emphasized nod to their previous work in Broadcast and Plone, they manage to push their sound further into new directions.

“…top-notch romantic synth-pop.” Pitchfork
"Aesthetically intriguing and totally accessible, almost radio-friendly - which in our view is quite an achievement. Seeland might just have made the first great underground pop album of '09." Fact Magazine
“While there is a whimsy to the analogue burbles and Barrett-style vocal harmony choruses, their digital glossy pop finds common factors in their divergent lineage to create something new.” The Wire
“This is indie-pop for a new Century that still tips its hat to the old one” Plan B.
"An original and refreshingly optimistic piece of work." The Music Magazine
