Eccentric vocals, electronic cut ups and the folky flavours.
This trio comprises of two drummers who choose to play guitars and a keyboard player... non of whom seem to understand the fundamental rules of when to capitalize letters. “CuTe HoRSe CuT” is a wonderfully eclectic affair with elements of Cassette Boy or The Books' crude electronic cut ups, and the folky flavours and vocal style reminiscent of Woodworks very own Tunng. Although this record veers towards the absurd, GaBLe perfectly represent Lo Recordings daring originality and the great moments, are truly marvellous.
Darting from sugary sweet choruses to menacing stabs into darkness, their sound brings images of flute touting punks playing destructive folk songs at one massive electro banquet. Alongside the bird noises and pots and pans that appear on the album are a wonderful array of instruments including a toy piano, accordion, banjo, cello and timpani but despite all the wild noise it's the songs that remain. Crazy, anarchic but often strangely moving.
