Norwegian post-rock excitingly infused with elements of prog, surf, jazz, pop and noise-rock.
The Low Frequency in Stereo formed in a small town called Haugesund in Norway. In the bands infancy the music was primarily instrumental and stuck quite rigidly to post-rock. The bands exciting recent output has progressed far beyond post- rock to incorporate elements from prog, surf, jazz, pop and noise-rock - without jeopardising the ambient guitar flow that was their trademark from the outset.
From the Eastern-tinged pop flirt of "Starstruck" to the near ten minute cosmic groove-trip that is "Solar System", Futuro, the new album from this excellent group finds them on top form and taking a big leap from their previous, Norwegian Grammy nominated, album. Futuro is both industrial and rough as well as polished and streamlined. There are nods to fellow Norwegians 120 Days as well as Stereolab, Can, Doors, Joy Division and even B-52's, but essentially this is a group that have perfected their own sound from jam to jam, album to album.

"The music is a mixture of the long solo elements in “the Doors” set to the raptide of Joy Division’s “transmission” with the surf guitar twang of Dick Dale. They are the Coolest Rulers from Scandinavia!" Rolling Stone
