Jean-Marc Cerrone is one of the most influential disco producers to emerge from Europe during the 1970s and early ‘80s. Crowned king of the dance floor, the sound of Cerrone is super slick and achingly cool – file proudly next to Giorgio Moroder. Despite epitomising the sound of the ’70s in Europe, Cerrone still sounds fresh and incredibly relevant today – the mark of an electronic genius who was way ahead of the beat, quite literally.

Cerrone’s innovative music does more than just propel disco-lovers to dance floors. The crisp, rich sound has prompted samplings by numerous artists such as Daft Punk and Groove Armada, proving his influence on younger generations of electronic musicians around the world. Recently his classic track ‘Supernature’ has been synched into Gus Van Sant’s awesome film Milk and popular-with-the-kids computer game Grand Theft Auto 4, amongst others.
