Gloriously psychedelic, beautifully trippy. An influential artist thats music bubbles with life affirming joy.
On the Milk of Human Kindness, the third album from Caribou and a fresh direction from the spiralling psychedelia of Up In Flames, we are treated to a strong dose of Krautrock particularly the controlled propulsion of Neu. The opening riff of "Bees", for example, takes a handful of Booker T & the MGs' "Green Onions" and spreads them like flares along the Autobahn of "Hallo Gallo" indulging a fondness for dynamic builds and folds in a chorus of horns that lead to a booming drum crescendo.
The flipside of these drum-heavy tunes is "Hello Hammerheads", an upfront and folksy vocal where Snaith successfully heads for Simon and Garfunkel territory. Sitting on the back of the bus with Elaine Robinson never felt better, get on board.
