Magical, childlike, otherworldly soundtracks with undeniable warmth rendered by elegant sweeping strings.
There is no mistaking the beautiful sound of Charlie Alex March, he is a remarkable home-grown talent whose eagerly anticipated debut album is just out on Loaf (Lo Recordings quirky pop offshoot) produced by Mr High Llamas Sean O’Hagan. Hot Chip’s string arrangers provided the lush strings on his two ep’s and he has recently collaborated with producer of the moment Metronomy so he's clearly hot property. There is a wonderful childlike naivety to the sound that you know is achieved through real musical mastery, a softness of touch merging with a desire to sound otherworldly. This care and attention gives Charlie the skills she needs to perfectly write to brief as one of our bespoke composers.
Tracks to listen to here include 'Snow Feet' - delicate and bewitching, a perfect aural description of snowy shenanigans, 'Melodie' errs more on the futuristic side being slightly heavier in synth but still retaining a beautiful lightness, and 'Cortot No6' which really showcases the beauty of the string arrangements, with a perfect pulsating glockenspiel feature to bask in.

"It's a beautiful glockenspiel and string led instrumental that gently comes and goes in under three minutes. Delightful." David Bowie
