Resonant melodies stripped bare, leaving nothing but delicate beauty and an undoubtable cinematic sound.

Classically trained on the Piano from the tender age of 7 Dustin O'Halloran embraced the beauty of the instrument until moving in with his father later in his childhood years. It was upon meeting with Sara Lov who along with Dustin formed the creative duo behind The Delvics that Dustin re-ignited his passion for the piano and began to introduce its intricate melodies and classic sound into his songwriting.

Focusing more on the power of the piano as a solo instrument allowed Dustin, with the help of his record label, to develop himself as a pianist and composer alongside his regular output. Since then he has relocated to a picturesque villa in the Italian Hills where he composes the main body of his work taking a musical nod as much towards the greats as Chopin and Beethoven as well as modern minimalist composer Michael Nyman

Poignant and eerily lovely, “Piano Solos Vol. 2"  is a compendium of his work,  recorded alone at home in Italy on a 1930’s piano, taking resonant melodies and stripping them bare, leaving nothing but a delicate and starkly moving beauty. The effect is undeniably cinematic: two of these pieces came about after being personally picked for composition in Sofia Coppola’s “Marie Antoinette”. This is music which evokes a wealth of imagery – fresh snow, black boughs, mist and rain, light like diamonds on the water.

“Opus 28” is influenced by Chopin and Debussy but listen closely and you’ll hear a nod to postmodern beauty as well, to the epic, enigmatic sound of Mogwai and God Speed You Black Emperor. “Opus 34” revels in a delicate, grand majesty, a vulnerability echoing in the air around each elegant moment. There is fragility to each note, leaving you with the same sense of longing that you imagine Dustin has when he has not played for a while.

With a recent advert for Sky under his belt, Dustin is fast proving his worth as a composer with an already impressive resume of clients and two breathtaking albums showcasing his immense talent.
