Read Description:

The UK's very British answer to Fleet Foxes and Grizzly Bear. Americana meets nu–folk - the perfect escape.

It wont be long until talk of short lived Midlands based Indie group She Talks to Angels becomes a hot topic of indie folklore, with a line up consisting of Shane Meadows, Paddy Considine, and Nick Hemming you start to ask questions. Whilst the former carved a budding career in film the latter continued to work in a warehouse whilst working on The Leisure Society.

Already turning heads with their timeless scores to cult indie flicks, "A Room for Romeo Brass" and the mighty "Dead Man's Shoes" the band have been dubbed as the UK's answer to Fleet Foxes and Grizzly Bear. With an Ivor Novello nomination for "Best Song Musically & Lyrically of 2009" (highly unusual for an unsigned band) and their debut album "The Sleeper" making its way onto many discerning critics 'best of's' The Leisure Society bring us their delightful second release "Into The Murky Water".

“Into The Murky Water” arrives as a wonderful surprise: one leg in and one leg out of the current folk-pop scene but utilising their wide stance to confidently deliver a record bedecked in beautiful, swirling melodies and deftly constructed vignettes. The whole record plays out like a sumptuous stage musical: stocked full of dramatic twists, surges of strings, woodwind cascades and a continual desire to find new and improved ways of bringing a song to a mutually satisfied conclusion.
