Description:

A glorious juxtaposition of electro hooks, rock breaks, disco synth and heartfelt vocals.

A Woodwork exclusive, ahead of debut album release. Killaflaw. Born from the influences of the rave scene and the festival rock driven sound of Led Zeppelin or more recently The Prodigy, Killaflaw are an explosive act. Whilst still quenching the heaviest of music fans thirst for action, they venture into softer, more delicate realms than their predecessors with blues infused guitar, vocal and trumpet material.

The band consists of two members, Benn Helm and Andy Paton who have worked together over the past three years cultivating this unique juxtaposition. Helm's raw, energetic and bluesy vocal style, and talent for memorable and catchy guitar riffs give the group a stable foundation for Paton to come into his own, with sliced breakbeat, spine quivering basslines and heart breaking melody on synth or trumpet.

Killaflaw are creeping into media focus and are fast gathering momentum, due to their electric live performance, stunning previous releases and a new EP entitled “Set Me On Fire”. The title track sets the tone of the record which holds an entirely new set of influences, with melodic disco synth sections that sound more likely to have sprung from the new Goldfrapp record or an old Blondie relic. This is not to say the record as a whole doesn't pack the punch of previous releases, because it does. Theres more than enough electro hooks, rock breaks, heartfelt vocals and now, disco synth to keep most interested.

Quotes:

“The missing link between Soundgarden and The Prodigy has materialised. Killaflaw would be equally at home at Download as they would at Creamfields. Benn has a voice that would blow a stadium away, as well as any club.” Eddy Temple-Morris - Losers, Dance Rocks DJ and XFM The Remix

“Killaflaw are a band that have taken my breath away. Benn’s voice is amazing, and their sound is massive. I love them! “ Emma Scott - Kerrang!

“If only Led Zeppelin stopped ripping off blues artists and heard The Prodigy decades earlier, they’d probably sound like this" Stephen Kelly - The Fly Magazine
