Read Description:

Psychedelic pop with mammoth arrangements.

Oh No Ono are a five-piece from the Danish town of Aalborg. Their music is intricate and otherworldly, and their individuality and originality has made them pop stars in their homeland. Releasing their debut LP on The Leaf Label in 2010, we think the same will happen here!

“Eggs” is so full of killer pop songs that it’s bursting at the seams. The arrangements are grand, the melodies adventurous and vocals curious. Each song has it’s own personality but it is a solidly cohesive output, melding elements from music from the 60s and 70s but with a definite progression to the future. The hype surrounding these Danish popsters has been mega, partly due to the deliciously dark video for recent single, 'Swim'. The clip was made by acclaimed director Adam Hashemi, who has perfectly harnessed the eerie, unsettling feel of the song to an unforgettable video. Have a look below to see for yourself!

Key tracks include ‘Swim’, which has a pleasantly disconcerting, hazy feel, ‘The Tea Party’ features a stop-start guitar riff and galloping rhythm with a more buoyant effect, ‘Helplessly Young’ is frantic yet frivolous, reminding of a chase sequence, which is sharply contrasted by the dramatic, Kate Bush-esque ‘Icicles’, perfectly showcasing a beautiful tenor vocal. There are also remixes available by Caribou, The Phenomenal Handclap Band and The Deprecation Guild (AKA The Pains of Being Pure At Heart) which all pack a real punch.

"A treasure trove of Baroque trivia. "Eggs" is admirably song-focused, and divested of any but the tastiest excess." Pitchfork

"Hauntingly glam, Arcade Fire-style orchestral bombast and the most polarising falsetto since Joanna Newsom." The Quietus

"Psychedelica at it's cinematic best" Filter

"Fantastical, experimental pop that knows no boundaries." Under The Radar
