Read Description:

Charming guitar-led indie pop ditties with lyrics of lost love.

The Noyelle Beat is the debut album from Sheffield-based indie kids, Standard Fare. Packed with lovelorn tunes, youthful energy and brilliantly balanced his ‘n’ hers vocals, this album is like looking back through your teenage diaries, trying to figure it all out.

The music is sharp, jangly guitar pop – file next to The Maccabees and Good Shoes. These songs are mostly positive and upbeat, with heartwarming sentimentality and just the perfect dose of youthful self-pity. Standard Fare combine a great balance of flair and innocence, managing to woo even the hardest of hearts. With support from Steve Lamacq, and numerous great reviews piling up, be sure to catch this band while you can!

Listen to ‘Philadelphia’ for an immensly catchy indie pop singalong, ‘A Night With A Friend’ for their trademark boy/girl vocal magic, and ‘Fifteen’ for an upbeat love story reminiscent of the Long Blondes which will be lighting up indie discos in no time.

Quotes:

"Purveyors of the finest bouncy, jangly pop songs this side of the Smiths, their songs are full of youthful energy but also have a harder edge that help them stand head and shoulders above their peers." Artrocker

"A riot of hormones, cut-to-the-chase lyrics, bloshie boy-girl vocals and jingle-jangle propulsion, this debut from the Sheffield trio distills all the best and most lovable aspects of guitar music and avoids its many pitfalls." The Sunday Times

"An incredibly infectious and catchy album" The Music Critic

"Key songs, Dancing, Fifteen and Philadelphia all contain the sort of beat-skipping moments that persuade even the hardest hearts." Sounds XP
