Instrumental rock wound with jazz rhythms and hypnotising melodies.
Slow As An Eyeball is the debut album by Yorkshire-based instrumental trio Quack Quack. Combining elements of rock and jazz, the band wind inventive melodic lines and ever-changing rhythms, resulting in a bright, bouyant sound. The album gradually eases the listener in with the relatively subdued ‘Perpetual Spinach’ before releasing their anarchic side with ‘D Motherfucker D’. Here, a chaotic intro paves the way for the playfully melodic keyboard lines backed up Afrobeat inspired rhythms and sludgy basslines. Produced by Richard Formby (who has also worked with Wild Beasts & Mogwai) and featuring two members of Polar Bear, this is a long awaited instrumental treat.
