Description:

A widescreen presentation, laced with ever-sweetening melodies, strings and incredibly honest vocals, brought together by an old soul. We represent master worldwide excluding North America. Universal represent publishing.

Memphis born singer-songwriter Micah P. Hinson spent a childhood surrounded by archaic instruments, a teenage-hood idolizing his older brothers indie records and his early adulthood struggling with bankruptcy, homelessness and drug addiction. With such a perfectly literary past and a lifelong friendship with John Mark Lapham of The Earlies (who produces Hinson), one could say Hinson’s role was already written out. There’s no doubt, he certainly delivers on these grand expectations on his most recent offering ‘Pioneer Saboteurs’. The first thing to strike you about the record is the grand string arrangements. Hinson's never been shy with the widescreen presentation of his music, but here he takes his craft to a new level of decadence. 'A Call To Arms' is a gorgeous mass of orchestration, setting the scene beautifully for grand and impressive pieces like '2s And 3s'. This record is perfectly laced with an air of tragedy and ever-sweetening violin melodies, which hold the wisdom and experience of an old soul. Just beautiful.

Quotes:

A powerfully ominous reshaping of old-school Americana BBC Music

There are strings aplenty, arranged as baroque lullabies or strange waltzes, Hinson shuffling his sorrows against a backdrop of multitracked choirs and fractured noise. Incredibly addictive. Uncut

There are few voices in contemporary alt-country quite so adept at wresting consolation from the depths of despair as Hinson's sonorous baritone. Q Magazine
