Indie pop with a tropical twist
With a release date set amidst the still flickering embers of a fading summer this San Diegan five-piece do, on the surface, imbue all that’s ever been approximated of the sun-kissed beaches, the lush Technicolor atmosphere and carefree nature of their native surroundings, guitars trill with exoticism, tightening and loosening like a yoyo string.
By taking influence from Talking Heads and Paul Simon their hook filled version of 'Afro Pop' delivers a lighthearted experience laced with tender, cushioning tones comparable with the East coast surf sound of The Drums and Vampire Weekend.
"Cuckoo Chaos takes the chaos in one’s life and puts it to the backdrop of Mulholland Drive at sunset, thereby deconstructing man to his core and resolving character flaws with dance and a positive outlook on life." (Lefse Records)
