Created by a 22 year old college drop out named Trevor Powers, Youth Lagoon provides dreamy, melodic and bright music with processed drum beats and an ethereal, nostalgic voice floating over the top. Whilst attempts have been made to place Youth Lagoon in Lo-fi and Chillwave genre settings, and comparisons to Perfume Genius have been drawn, we think of Youth Lagoon as a slightly lighter version of The XX mixed with War Paint. An amazing combination!
