Over the last 13 years Lo Recordings have garnered a formidable reputation as one of the most consistently innovative independent labels around with a stunning output of electronic music. Lo recently set up 2 subsiduary imprints : Loaf (Lo Audio Frequencies) for new artists and band orientated releases and Loeb (Lo Electronic Beats) for more track-based 12” vinyl only output. The labels are run by Gavin O’ Shea in their London offices and Jon Tye in Cornwall through their companies Hub 100 and Hub 100 publishing. Working with the “Non–Format” designers they have developed an instantly recognizable slick and impressive visual style that is employed across their releases.
Their music policy is “Resplendent in Divergence”, having been responsible for an eclectic catalogue of music that has touched on everything from techno, house and electro, to easy listening, ambient, electronica and drum and bass.  Their discography of over 70 releases includes recordings by Aphex Twin, Blur, Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), Jean-Jaques Perry, Luke Vibert , Black Devil Disco Club, Susumu Yokota, Squarepusher, and Milky Globe. They have also released the lesser-known but equally talented Cursor Miner (warped electro-beat-funk), Vincent Oliver (like Beck’s gaming little brother), Spectac (deceptively simple-sounding delicate string-laden tracks) and Batfinks (Zappa with a side order of rave noodles).

Recently the Lo stable has been keeping very busy, bringing us the much-anticipated album from beatmeisters Red Snapper, new-wave-punk-funk heroes The Chap, balearic soundscapes from Hatchback and legendary cosmic disco from Black Devil Disco Club. Meanwhile Loaf have been responsible for the darkly epic Dark Captain, Light Captain and superbly understated singer-songwriter Charlie Alex March. Vinyl purveyors Loeb have been on the case with the esoteric beats of Chilled By Nature and much-respected Kerrier District.

There is always an exciting release round the corner from the Lo stable and the forthcoming album from experimental electronic pioneer Susumu Yokota is no exception, “Mother” is released in February.  March sees the long-awaited release of “Tomorrow Today” by Seeland (ex-Broadcast / Plone), an absolutely wondrous example of accomplished melodic electronic pop sometimes sounding like The Beach Boys, Radiophonic workshop and at times Jesus & Mary Chain - how Lo can you go?!
